Cornish BlueCornish Blue is one of those instantly recognisable brands. In 1925, the potters at the small TG Green Pottery in Church Gresley, Derbyshire established a range of kitchen and dining ware which would ensure the pottery's lasting fame - Cornishware. Inspired by the contrast between the blue of the sky over the coast of the English holiday resorts of Cornwall and the whites of the waves breaking on the shore. The distinctive blue and white bands of Cornishware were an immediate hit in the UK and were soon exported around the globe. Today, Cornishware is as popular as ever, with both old and new wares eagerly sought by collectors worldwide and with the value of old pieces rising dramatically in value. With the recent change of ownership changes are afoot and the brand is being relaunched with new items. This is sure to increase its popularity even more. |
