Karl Theodor RÖSLE established his company in 1888 manufacturing roofing components for the building industry in the town centre of Marktoberdorf in the southernmost region of Germany. He introduced modern standards of industrial production without sacrificing the outstanding craftsmanship of the tradtional ways.

In 1903 a range of enamel kitchen equipment was added to the range. After the death of Karl Theodor Rösle in 1907 his sons Karl and George went into business as Gebrüder RÖSLE KG with great success so in 1918 a larger factory was built outside the the town centre. Between 1920 and 1950 steady growth followed in the kitchen equipment sector. Steel pans and tin-plated kitchen utensils were introduced into the range then chrome-plated kitchen items with a brass core. RÖSLE produced its first rustproof kitchen tools and cutlery in the 30’s. After the 2nd World War many new products of superior quality for household use and catering were introduced. 18/10 stainless steel (a steel alloy containing 18% chrome and 10% nickel) became recognised as the most suitable basic raw material for the RÖSLE range.

The first spoon-grinding machine was set up in 1957, developed from an idea of the founder Karl Rösle. From 1950 to 1980 the product range was expanded and in the following years the RÖSLE premises were enlarged to accommodate the innovative ideas and technology to meet the new challenges of current market trends.

In 1993 RÖSLE introduced their stainless steel kitchen and household utensils range (with a range addressing the needs of professional catering). Among RÖSLE's outstanding and innovative achievements to date have been the revolutionary ’Open Kitchen’ storage/display system launched in 1990 plus the one-handed Mezzaluna Chopper and a stainless steel cookware series launched in 1992.

With the market debut of the RÖSLE bowl in 1995 a new benchmark was set. The RÖSLE bowl series retains a unique market position to this day and is undeniably an example of excellence in its field. This was followed in 1996 by the jar and containers collection that in the same style as the stylish line of the bowls series and in 1997 the good old fashioned cooking spoon was updated with the astonishing stainless steel variant that RÖSLE introduced to the market.

In recent years with the introduction of the RÖSLE garlic press and the extensive range of graters and slicers RÖSLE again demonstrated excellence in both quality and function. The garlic press has become one of the best selling items in the popular product range. New developments in laser welding technology related to advanced production methods in the car industry have enabled RÖSLE to set new standards in quality and hygiene for graters and slicers.

RÖSLE is now established as a presence in the most prestigious department stores of over 50 countries. To name a few: Harrods of London, Rinascente of Milan, BHV of Paris and Williams Sonoma in USA.
